Plant Imprints in Clay

Source: http://pinterest.com/pin/98234835594484341/

Fimo® 'biscuits' (see receipt below) fresh out of the oven! Some loose glitter from our work surface ended up in the clay while imprinting. Six-year old Junior Pirate-in-Training Effervescent Ethel was most pleased with the end product!

Need:

-Fimo® polymer clay or similar
-rolling pin
-fresh leaves/flowers

What you see below are the imprints from the blossoms and stems of elderberrry flowers and leaves from our lemon verbena bush. We tried imprinting dandelion flowers but that didn't work out very well. We haven't decided yet whether to glue small magnets to the back of the pieces. I intended to attach a large paper clip to the back of each imprint to hang them but forgot to do that before baking.

Paper (Plate) Birds (or Fish if you prefer)

http://happyhooligans.ca/2013/03/07/paper-plate-birds/

Cap's Log 18.1315° N, 77.2736° W: The Ebony Oyster crew is quite low on paint and instead of painting paper plates we used card stock for this craft project. Next port o' call* we'll replenish! I've added paint to the top of my shopping list and marked it with an 'x'!

*Which was set afire last time we visited! (see photo)
