Ribbon Box for Easter (or other occasions)

Ahoy, buckos! Your dear captain had a bad case of craftfailitis in the month of April but is on the mend. She plans to be a more frequent contributor with the craft posts here at Dadiddley. Therefore, by cap'n's order: Let us craft-craft!

~CME~: For today's highlighted craft project, I have been buying, collecting and storing spools of ribbon whilst in port to add to a "Ribbon Box" for Easter (in lieu of a traditional Easter basket). The box below I found at Michaels Crafts for $15 and used a 50% off coupon. The ribbon spools I picked up whenever I stumbled upon a discount/$1 rack, yard sale, second hand store(s), generous,  an unsuspecting grandmother or a serendipitous sweet deal (3 spools ribbon for the price of 1, as an example), etc.

Embellished handle and lock parts with self-adhesive rhinestones.

.99¢ chocolate bunny (not hollow!)

I found this pin at Goodwill.

Homemade Easter cards using cookie cutters as templates.

Cost: $20-$24 for everything

Rainstick

Click here for full recipe: http://happyhooligans.ca/rain-sticks/

Cost: $o

Need:

Notice how I covered  the rainstick end with more decorative paper then taped the ends securely; wrapping well with yarn and sequin ribbon on top and bottom.

*Note: fill up the rainstick no more  than half full.  We skipped adding the broken up pieces of toothpicks, the white plastic shelf holder things (has a name but forgot!), pennies.

Sparkly Sandals AKA 'Fancy Flip Flops' for summer!

Need:

*1 pair of flip flops
*self-adhesive rhinestones, jewels, pearls, etc.
*glue (read note below)

Note: The self-adhesive rhinestones had trouble staying attached to the flip flops. Was that because of the rubber surface? Who knows. A good squirt of glue fixed the problem.

Cost: $4.00 ( Price includes .98¢ for the flip flops purchased at Walmart)
